Rebecca Grossman
Owner
Rebecca didn't plan to become a Senior Move Manager®; she became one because she experienced her own family’s struggle to downsize and move without one. When her grandparents sold their home of over 50 years and moved to a small one bedroom apartment in an independent living community it did not go well. They were overwhelmed with everything that needed to be done to manage the logistics of the transition. They couldn’t fit everything in their new apartment, and many of their belongings that they didn’t move were thrown away. They didn't know there was a better way to rehome their possessions that they no longer needed. Her grandmother never quite made peace with the belongings she had to let go.
Her family faced another challenge when her other grandparents decided to live in their Florida condo full time, leaving their children and grandchildren to clean out everything in their home in Massachusetts. Then years later her family had to travel back and forth to complete a long distance clean out with no local support in Florida after her grandparents passed away.
These firsthand experiences give her true empathy for the stress downsizing and moving can put on both older adults and the families trying to help them.
That is why Rebecca founded Smooth Transitions of Greater Boston: to give other families the guidance hers didn't have, so they can spend their time and energy on each other, not on boxes and logistics.
Rebecca was born and raised in Greater Boston and is excited to serve her local community. Both sets of her grandparents were small business owners, and after spending 25 years in Marketing working for a variety of larger companies, she is thrilled to continue the tradition and focus her efforts on delivering a service she believes in, guided by a mission that's deeply personal.
Rebecca brings honesty, care, and patience to every family she works with. She's a member of NASMM (National Association of Senior & Specialty Move Managers) and holds her real estate license for the state of Massachusetts, so she can support clients through every part of the transition. When she's not with clients, you'll find her outdoors exploring New England with friends and family, cooking new recipes, or practicing yoga to take time to pause and reflect to be fresh and ready for the next day’s opportunities.
